Ironman 70.3 World Championships
The 70.3 World Championship race took place in Nelson Mandela Bay, South Africa, this past weekend, and the field did not disappoint. A very large number of the big names in the sport were present, including World Champions (plural), Olympic Gold Medalists (plural), and the fastest multisport athletes on the globe. Despite two days of intense fireworks, the podiums were fairly straightforward. Swiss phenomenon and reigning Ironman and Ironman 70.3 World Champ Daniela Ryf was unstoppable, taking the win on the women's side. For the men, multiple-World Champ and Olympic Gold medalist Jan Frodeno held off a hard-charging Allistair Brownlee and Javier Gomez to grab the title.
TriRig is incredibly proud that out of the six podium spots, three athletes ride our products. Javier Gomez (3rd place male) and Lucy Charles (2nd place female) both ride our Omega X brakes front and rear. Anne Haug (3rd place female) has been riding our brakes and the Alpha X aerobars for quite some time, racking up a number of wins.
