Monopost Upgrade
At TriRig, we are committed to the constant improvement of our products and processes. Often, we make small rolling changes to products without announcing the change. But sometimes a change is so significant that we like to give you a heads up.
Today we are proud to show you a revision to the Monopost that serves as the heart of Alpha One's stack adjustment system. There are two significant changes. First is the addition of a small bit of material at the top of the Monopost, to better cradle the Dragonfly. This tiny bit of additional material yields a huge improvement in the stiffness and stability of the overall system, and is small enough not to make a measurable difference in aerodynamics.
Second, we have changed the material from molded carbon, to CNC-machined aluminum alloy. This allows us to maintain a much tighter tolerance, to ensure a very snug fit in the bar. The weight of the part is not much different. We've added just 13 grams to the entire setup. Moreover, the entire Monopost is now a single unitary part. The threads are cut right into the aluminum, and the graphics are laser-etched. From a conceptual standpoint, this is a more elegant solution than the original carbon part with threaded inserts and pasted-on graphics.
The resulting improvement in final fit, finish, and overall stiffness of the bar are striking. It's never fun to scrap a carbon mold - the cost of tooling and developing is significant. But when we are faced with the stunning reality that the alloy version is simply that much better, it makes the choice obvious. This is the new Monopost going forward. And moreover, we are providing this new post to every existing Alpha One customer at no charge.
