Review: Diamondback Serios F
When the Diamondback Serios debuted in Kona 2014, it took everyone by surprise. Here was a company not only presenting a new bike, but this was the company's first appearance on the triathlon scene at all. It's not a total newcomer, however, having selectively hired engineers and marketing folks from established brands around the industry. Former Cervelo and Scott employees are now at Diamondback, just to name two.
My initial impressions of the Serios were that it was a reasonably good UCI-legal bike, with a couple quirky - you might say questionable - choices. The big two for these were the direct-mount only brakes, severely limiting choice for aftermarket cleanup, and the decision to model the front end around the HED Corsair bar, which offers no independent pad stack adjustment. Fortunately, there are replacements available for both of these parts, so if you aren't the biggest fan of them, they can be swapped out. But there's no frameset-only option, so you'd have to buy the complete bike and then take off the stock parts.
But we'll get there. First, let's take a look at the frameset and stock components. Hit the jump and let's get started.
