Kona 2016: Tim Don's Specialized Shiv

Diamondback stunned everyone with the launch of the ultra-radical Andean. We had a chance to shoot the bike and its unique features, and chat with designer Kevin Quan about it. One thing many people haven't noticed is how exceptionally NARROW this bike is. Using 1-inch bearings up front helped toward that effort, and likely helps out at low yaw. My biggest complaint about the bike is that it was designed for (and currently can only be purchased with) the old HED Corsair aerobar which doesn't offer ANY stack adjustment. Quan admitted that is a fair criticism, and that they simply didn't have enough time/resources to design a complete cockpit. It might be something they do in the future, however. I do love, however, the introduction of radical designs. The Andean has some great features and concepts.
