Trek Gear at Ironman Hawaii
The coolest thing we saw at the Trek booth was this one-of-a-kind District 9 Carbon, made especially for Chris Lieto to take around town.

We caught up with Trek at this year's Ironman Hawaii Kona Village expo. Trek shook up the tri world this year with the public release of the Speed Concept bike, and has several athletes in Kona riding the top-end machines. Trek pulled out a few tricks and brought some very fun gear to show off, including a custom District 9 Carbon bicycle built specifically for Chris Lieto. This ultimate town bike features Bontrager RXL base bar and brake levers, deep dish Aeolus 6.5 wheels, and a singlespeed Gates Carbon belt drive. For cruising around town, there is probably no cooler bike on the planet. Trek isn't currently planning on a public release of this superlight pleasure cruiser, but who knows what the future might bring?
