A favorite target for weight savings on bikes is the humble skewer. Our own Styx skewers strike a beautiful balance between robust function, bombproof durability, and low weight. But with the SL line, we wondered what would happen if we dialed the "low weight" of that equation up to 11. And the result is Styx SL. These skewers use the same dual-lock design of their predecessor. This saves your fork by eliminating the "chewing" motion of standard skewers as they rotate into the fork dropout. Instead, each side of the skewer has its own head that locks into the fork dropout, then the thru-bolt locks the system into place. A standard T25 bolt head allows precise torque input with a standard tool, while ensuring no unintentional cam-out or bolt-stripping. And Styx SL comes in at a worlds'-lightest 19 grams for the set. Note, as Styx SL is made of T6-6061 aluminum alloy rather than the stronger 6/4 Titanium of its big brother, we recommend an input of 4.5 Nm on each skewer, and checking torque before each ride.
