Salut! Je m'appelle Jérémie Mitchell. J'ai obtenu ma licence USA Triathlon Elite en 2015, lors de ma 10e année de course en triathlon. Naviguer dans le nouveau niveau supérieur de compétition a été un voyage difficile et enrichissant, mais il a été grandement amélioré grâce à mes incroyables partenaires. Peu de temps après ma première course dans la division professionnelle à Boulder 70.3 en 2015, j'ai été mis en contact avec Dash Cycles à Denver et j'ai commencé à travailler avec eux principalement sur leur gamme de selles. J'ai beaucoup appris sur l'environnement des startups et sur ce qu'il faut pour créer des produits de vélo uniques, à la fois très légers et très aérodynamiques. Les gars là-bas m'ont appris combien d'efforts il faut pour franchir la ligne fine entre ces deux objectifs, afin de réaliser des gains réels de vitesse sur le vélo.

Les compétences que j'ai acquises chez Dash Cycles se sont bien traduites par un rôle avec Nick chez TriRig, où j'ai commencé à travailler fin 2016. TriRig était un environnement familier, tout comme celui que j'ai vu chez Dash, et j'ai vraiment apprécié mon séjour ici.

Lorsque j'ai commencé à travailler avec TriRig, je courais sur un Cervelo P5-Six. Le P5 était déjà une grande amélioration pour moi par rapport au Specialized Transition sur lequel je courais auparavant - en termes de poids du cadre, de rigidité, d'aérodynamisme et de composants. Comme beaucoup de triathlètes, je voyage en avion pour les courses et j'avais du mal à faire et à déballer le P5 à la recherche de solutions plus simples pour voyager.


Avoir un accès aussi proche aux produits TriRig était très tentant, j'ai donc commencé à remplacer les composants de mon vélo qui rendaient le P5 si difficile à emballer. Tout d’abord, j’ai remplacé le système de freinage hydraulique Magura RT8TT par les freins Omega X, simples et élégants. Ceux-ci se sont avérés être un jeu d’enfant pour le réglage et le démontage. D’après ce que je comprends, ce sont probablement les freins les plus populaires du marché, et pour cause.

Ensuite, j'ai remplacé l'Aduro Aerobar fourni en standard sur une version P5 complète par l'aérobar TriRig Alpha X complet avec des extensions Gamma, un kit d'inclinaison Alpha X et des coupelles et coussinets Ergo mis à jour. Le système Alpha X rend l'emballage beaucoup plus facile avec beaucoup moins de boulons à manipuler dans le processus et m'a permis de bricoler mon ajustement beaucoup plus facilement que la barre Aduro. J'ai baissé d'environ 30 mm depuis le premier boulonnage sur l'Alpha X. De plus, l'Alpha X a intégré une peinture antidérapante sur les cornes de taureau, ce qui me permet de sauter le ruban de guidon pour un meilleur aérodynamisme et une plus grande simplicité. Le kit d'inclinaison permet d'obtenir un ajustement et une position parfaits beaucoup plus facilement avec jusqu'à 20 degrés d'inclinaison. Les coupelles Ergo sont, comme leur nom l'indique, incroyablement confortables par rapport à tous les autres coussinets d'aérobar que j'ai utilisés. Ils me donnent vraiment beaucoup plus de confiance dans la position aérodynamique et m'aident à rester en position aérodynamique beaucoup plus longtemps qu'avant, en particulier lorsque je contourne un virage, bombarde une descente ou navigue sur des routes accidentées.
