Introducing the High-Tilt Dragonfly for Alpha Prime
Today TriRig is excited to unveil the next stage of evolution in our front-end ecosystem. This is the high-tilt Dragonfly, now available for our Alpha Prime aerobar.
The Dragonfly is the heart of Alpha Prime, our universal carbon fiber aerobar with a patented and award-winning stack and tilt adjustment mechanism. It’s not only the most aero setup on the market but the most adjustable, and basically makes your bike into a mobile fit studio. With just two bolts, you can continuously adjust the tilt of the entire front end. Our standard Dragonfly could tilt upwards as high as 15 degrees. But in recent years we are seeing many athletes need to go beyond that range. Setups at 20 degrees, or even 25 degrees of tilt are not uncommon anymore.
The new High-Tilt dragonfly more than doubles the tilt range of the original version, and can now go as high as 33 degrees of tilt. And it does so while retaining everything that made the standard Dragonfly an award-winning platform beloved by thousands of athletes around the world. The new High-Tilt Dragonfly includes a large range of mounting holes for adjusting the fore-aft position and stance width of your cups, an integrated BTA mount to attach bottles, computers, or hydration systems like the TriRig BTA Elevator, and of course that all-important continuous stack and tilt adjustment.
And it’s also compatible with our optional extension clamps, so that you can use it with standard extensions when needed, or retain a smooth clean surface when using super extensions like Scoops Ultimate EVO.
And interestingly, while the new Dragonfly tilts upwards up to 33 degrees, it can also tilt downwards as much as 15 degrees. Why would you want to do that? Well, we’ve seen some athletes wanting to push their hydration setup rearwards, towards the top tube. With the new dragonfly, you can actually flip the entire system around, and that negative 15 degree adjustment latitude becomes positive 15 degrees, with the BTA holes going rearward.
The new High-Tilt Dragonfly is available now in the TriRig Store, either as an upgrade for existing Alpha Prime and Alpha One customers, or it can be bought as original hardware when you buy the Alpha Prime aerobar. Just select it via a drop down when you buy the bar.
And while we think most customers will want the new High Tilt Dragonfly, the Standard Dragonfly will continue to be available. It remains a good solution for customers who require ultra low-stack setups, with their cups slammed right on top of the aerobar. It’s not common, but if those last 15mm of stack are critical to your bike fit, the Standard Dragonfly might be right for you.
