Silca Pista, Ti-Torque, Tubes en latex

Pompe à pied Pista

La vénérable marque italo-américaine Silca a fait quelques pas ces dernières années, en proposant de bons outils haut de gamme au consommateur averti. Dernièrement, le propriétaire de la marque et ancien ingénieur Zipp, Josh Poertner, a élargi la gamme des offres à la fois pour élargir les horizons de Silca et également pour aider le consommateur de base à profiter des produits exquis de Silca. Aujourd'hui, nous examinons trois nouveaux produits. Tout d'abord, la « plébitisation » du produit phare de Silca, la pompe  , présentée ici sous sa forme non-super, non-ultime, la Pista.

Le Pista offre toute la précision technique et la philosophie de conception « ça marche » des autres produits Silca, tout en échangeant certains des choix de matériaux extrêmes et des processus de fabrication coûteux contre des options plus économiques. Au lieu d'une plaque de sol massive et lourde, Pista propose une plaque modeste conçue pour économiser de l'espace, du poids et des coûts, tout en restant éminemment fonctionnelle. Au lieu du tuyau renforcé en Kevlar conçu pour résister à des milliers de PSI et durer 200 ans, il utilise un simple tuyau en caoutchouc conçu pour une utilisation quotidienne.

Dans le même temps, le Pista offre toutes les fonctionnalités de son grand frère, tout en coûtant environ 70 % de moins. Il est doté des jauges ultra-précises de Silca (précision à 3 %), de leur merveilleux (ici en aluminium au lieu d'acier inoxydable) et d'un mandrin Scraeder intégré pour fixer d'autres accessoires ou simplement gonfler votre plate-forme de gravier. En le comparant à ses frères et sœurs aînés, nous avons déjà noté les déclassements qu'il apporte en termes de matériaux et de design. Mais il présente un avantage majeur : il est très léger et compact.


La Pista n'est pas nécessairement destinée à être l'arme secrète du mécanicien Pro Tour ou l'outil incontournable de votre magasin de vélos - c'est la pompe économique et incontournable du cycliste pour un usage domestique et en voyage. Mon plus gros reproche est que la conception à un seul pied de la base est décidément instable et destinée à être toujours utilisée avec un pied qui la maintient stable. Bien sûr, cette conception à un seul pied est également ce qui lui permet d’être si compact et de se poser facilement à plat. C'est un avantage pour les voyages et un inconvénient pour un usage domestique. Si je cherchais une pompe de voyage, c'est clairement un premier choix. Pour un usage domestique régulier, je jetterais un coup d'œil attentif à la SuperPista de Silca à 235 $ - toujours beaucoup moins chère que l'édition "Ultimate" de la même pompe, mais avec le même encombrement.
